About the lab

Schools work better when good practice is easier to do.

Low Friction Lab partners with educators to find the unnecessary drag in everyday systems—and replace it with clarity, care, and practical design.

Our point of view

People are rarely the problem. The path around them often is.

Educators bring skill, judgment, and deep commitment to their work. Yet even excellent teams lose energy to unclear requests, repeated decisions, crowded tools, and initiatives that compete for attention.

We make those conditions visible. Then we work alongside the people closest to the work to simplify what can be simplified, strengthen what matters, and build routines that last.

How we work

Three commitments guide every partnership.

Listen close to the work

We begin with lived experience, direct observation, and the context educators already understand.

Design with, not for

The people who use a system help shape it, test it, and decide what makes it useful.

Prefer the smallest useful move

Sustainable progress often starts with a precise change that makes tomorrow noticeably easier.

Who we serve

Support for the people who make learning possible.

We work with K–12 schools, districts, networks, nonprofits, and education organizations that want improvement efforts to feel practical and humane.
